** CROATIA  Spring 2008 **

Croatia offers such a challenge to travellers with unbelievable contrasts in terrain between the staggeringly beautiful Dalmatian coastline, the harshly inhospitable mountainous Karst-land interior, and the broad fertile Slavonian plains of the Sava, Drava and Danube river valleys. Everywhere there is so much startling evidence of the tragic 1991~5 wars with Serbia which brought Croatia its independence. But the Croatian people are hospitable, the campsites are generally of high standard, and the country offers a wealth of natural and historical interest. We are pleased to present the series of webs, originally published live during our Spring 2008 trip to Croatia, which we hope will be both of interest and usefulness to others considering Croatia as a travel destination.
