The Vienna Gate:  leading up to the Castle Hill in Buda, the imposing Vienna Gate was erected in 1936, replacing an earlier structure, to mark the 250th anniversary of Buda's liberation from Turkish occupation

Statue of St Istvan (Stephen): the first King of the Hungarian state crowned in 1000 AD who had Christianised the Magyar tribes who had settled in the Carpathian Basin in 896 AD
Matyas Church in Buda:  named after the enlightened King Matyas Corvinus. His attempts to bring Renaissance culture and learning to Hungary was cut short after his death; the invasion of the Turks after the Battle of Mohacs in 1526, brought a 150 year Dark Age to Hungary The Chain Bridge:  linking Buda to Pest across the Danube, the Chain Bridge was built by a Scottish engineer Adam Clark. Viewed from the Royal Palace terrace, St Stephen's Basilica is prominent on the Pest side of the Danube
