in 1976 to mark 450th anniversary of Mohács on the site of mass graves of
25,000 Hungarians killed in the battle. This devastating defeat by the
invading Turks marked the beginnings of over 4 centuries of foreign
occupation and rule for the Magyars |

delightful city with many elegant Art Nouveau buildings, as well as
surviving mosques from the 150 year period of Turkish occupation which
followed
the disastrous defeat of the Magyars at the Battle of Mohács |
