Our latest book now published:Around the Baltic ... in a VW Camper is now available. Based on the experiences of our 2018 five month journey of exploration through eight countries around the Baltic Sea, the book gives special emphasis to the Baltic States of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
This 8,700 miles landward circumnavigation of the Baltic in our VW Camper starts and ends at Lübeck, passing through Northern Germany and along the Pomeranian coast of Poland. After full exploration of the Baltic States, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, the return journey crosses the Gulf of Finland to Helsinki, and follows the Baltic seaboard through Southern Finland, the Turku Archipelago and Åland Islands. Across the Bothnian Gulf, the journey concludes around Sweden's SE coast, finally re-crossing the Baltic to its start-point at Lübeck.
The resultant book is now published as a 504 page, A4 sized paperback (see right for front cover), a uniquely comprehensive guide and reference book for the countries of the Baltic region.
These detailed travelogues give insightful coverage and analysis of our journey; the places we visited, the sights we witnessed, and the people we met.
The work is fully illustrated with over 700 colour photographs and illustrations, and is fully mapped enabling the reader to accompany us on our travels in a meaningful way.
The book also includes detailed history of the 3 Baltic States from their earliest settlement and their long centuries of foreign occupation and exploitation, through to post-WW2 Soviet occupation, and their final emergence as independent European sovereign republics in 1991.
