Camping Calamar, Prunete, Cervione, Eastern Corsica |
20 kms north of Aleria on east coast at Prunete
village, Cervione GPS: N-42.322140 E-9.545020 |
14 June | €15.50 | Very helpful welcome from young couple who keep the site; set along side lane off RN193 at tiny resort-hamlet of Prunete in former olive grove; olive trees provide plenty of shade but also teaming with (harmless) small white mites; site backs onto long and rather grubby beach; facilities modern and clean but limited; baker's van calls mornings in June; very reasonably priced. Overall - site busy in June with holiday-making families, but even so surprisingly quiet and still possible to find peaceful corner |

Camping la Plage U Stazzu, Macinaggio, Cap Corse, NE Corsica |
At Macinaggio village, NE tip of Cap Corse GPS: N-42.96401 E-9.44749 |
15 June | €17 |
Welcome - there was none other than monosyllabic
surly greeting from owner who made himself instantly dislikeable;
limited shade in large open camping area, but worst feature was
plagues of flies from nearby stables and sheep sheds which made the
site utterly uninhabitable; facilities were poor, old-fashioned and
unclean; despite price, no electricity ** ANOTHER WORST CAMPSITE OF TRIP - TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS ** - use Camping Santa Marina instead |

Camping Santa Marina, Santa Severa, Cap Corsu, NE Corsica |
On coast at Santa Severa below Luri village, Cap Corsu GPS: N-42.88565 E-9.47159 |
16 June | €18.50 | Pleasantly friendly and helpful welcome from owner and his wife; flat camping area well-shaded by trees with large grassy pitches, set alongside small gurgling stream - a delightful setting; facilities modern and clean with WC-paper, almost unprecedented in Corsica. Avoid U Stazzu and camp here, such a more pleasant and welcoming site |
