Campsites are rated on a scale +5 (excellent) through to -5 (dreadful); we have tried to be as objective and consistent as possible, basing our assessment on standards specifically applicable to Greece, over an amalgamation of the following criteria:
Comments given relate purely to the dates of our stay, often the peak summer holiday season. Prices paid in 2004~6 are quoted in Euros. |

Plenty of wild camping space in grassy parking area opposite entrance to archaeological site; good taverna nearby; Zeus' Oracle of Dodona was most ancient religious site in Greece and well worth a visit, especially for the magnificent Hellenistic theatre; watch out for snakes in long grass around the theatre area |

Preveza; best thing to be said about facilities were the swallows nesting in
light fitting; wild beach looking out over Ionian Sea; supermarket in Preveza,
an otherwise featureless town; be sure to visit archaeological sites of Kassope
and Nikopolis, and monastery of Zalonga cliff *** RIP-OFF PRICES - WORST VALUE OF TRIP *** |
